A passion project that refused to stay small in spirit.
Suzette Graham built Angels In Action in 2021 to help veterans and children facing housing and food insecurity — and to stand with an orphanage in Haiti. We are still that organization: local, committed, and allergic to theater.
The mission
“Helping improve the quality of life for the vulnerable.”
That line is already ours. We kept it because it is true and because it does not pretend we can fix everything. We improve a life when we can put a meal on a table, a blanket on a bed, a pin on a veteran’s lapel, or school and shelter around a child at Graham House.
Founder
Suzette Graham
Suzette Graham has dedicated her life to advocating for people who are vulnerable and less fortunate. She received the Heroism Award from the Governor of Alaska for her work changing laws to better protect children in the foster care system.
She is the founder and CEO of Patriot Angels, a separate company where she helps veterans and their families navigate veterans benefits. Patriot Angels is a partner on some of our events. It is not this organization, and we do not share its phones, inboxes, or brand.
In 2021, wanting to serve still more communities in need, she began building Angels In Action — a passion project aimed at people the larger systems miss. Since then the work has meant concrete help for veterans and children facing housing and food insecurity, and support for Graham House, an orphanage in Haiti.
She remains committed to giving back, and grateful for the people who make the next drive possible.
Why here
Hendersonville. Sumner County. Then farther, when a child needs it.
We are based at 242 W. Main Street in Hendersonville. The work is local first: holiday meals, school lunch help for Sumner County families, toys and blankets for foster families, and veteran honor events in senior living communities nearby.
Veterans and children are not a marketing pair. They are the people Suzette has spent a career standing next to — in foster care policy, in veterans benefits, and now in this charity.
Graham House is farther away. The obligation is the same: housing, school, food, healthcare, and someone who stays.
